Description

Forest Heights is a delightfully stylish, slightly boho, sunlit wine country getaway. This wonderfully renovated home gives guests plenty of room to spread out. The cozy covered porch entry leads into an open living and dining floor plan with vaulted ceilings, plenty of natural light, and updated kitchen. Upstairs is the main living area with two bedrooms and a full bathroom, kitchen, and hot tub deck. Downstairs is a separate suite (exterior stairs), with bathroom, bedroom, office space, and outdoor lounge with gas-firepit.

The outdoor areas are truly unique, with multiple levels, a forest view deck, loads of amenities, and creative touches everywhere. Relax in the hot tub under the stars or gather around the gas firepit with a glass of wine from one of the nearby wineries.

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Forest Heights is 6 people not including kids under 3 years old. Quiet hours are from 9:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times.

Parking: There is parking for a maximum of 2 standard vehicles on the carport. There is no street parking, so please park only on the parking deck. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Bed Sizes: Bedroom 1: Queen, Bedroom 2: Queen, Bedroom 3 (downstairs suite): Double

Heat Source: Upstairs: Propane Wall Furnace, Minisplit. Downstairs: Electric Wall Heater.

Cooling: Upstairs: Minisplit A/C unit in living room and ceiling fans in each bedroom. Downstairs: Freestanding fan, but it stays much cooling in the lower level in the summer.

Kitchen: The kitchen includes a dishwasher. At one time, the lower level included a kitchenette – this has been removed.

Bathrooms: Upstairs: Shower over tub. Downstairs: Shower only.

A Note About Our Cleaning Fees: Thank you for supporting our local business! When you stay with us, you are supporting local families at work. We think everyone deserves a decent living wage, and we make sure to set the rates and fees so that our cleaners earn a living wage in beautiful Sonoma County.

Location: Forest Heights is in a cozy residential neighborhood. It is a mix of permanent residents and vacation rentals, families, working folks, and visitors. To honor this balance, we ask guests to park only on the parking deck and respect the quiet hours in addition to general family-friendly, residential neighborhood expectations. Thank you for helping to continue the tradition of a mutually beneficial relationship between vacation rentals and local community!

Rural Setting and Critters: We live in a rural area with ants, spiders, rodents, and larger critters from mountain lions to bears. While we make the best effort to protect against them from coming into homes, we also do not use poison where it can harm wildlife, pets, and children. And keeping all critters out is simply not possible. We appreciate your help in putting tasty smelling items into refrigerators, proper disposal of trash, and understanding that ants (especially) come in without warning and may not have been present at the time of cleaning.

Stairs: One flight of stairs from carport to front door or one flight of steps from the road to the front door. The house is two levels with exterior stairs between levels. The third bedroom and second bathroom are on the lower level, which acts as its own suite with a laptop-ready workspace.

Pet Friendly: This home welcomes up to 2 well-mannered dogs. If you have more than 2 dogs or other types of pets, please contact us to see if exceptions can be made before reserving.

Fencing: The upstairs patio is fully fenced when gates are closed. Downstairs yard/patio partially fenced.

Road to Forest Heights: The house is located on a narrow residential road. It is a two-way, one-lane hillside road - fully paved and no special vehicle is required. We provide detailed written driving directions to confirmed guests. As kids play in the neighborhood, we advise driving cautiously and not to exceed the speed limit.

Security: For the safety of guests and the home, there are security cameras outside - facing the parking and entry areas of the property.

Work from HERE: Advertised Wifi Speed: Xfinity Service - Up to 800 Mbps download.
There is a dedicated workspace with office chair and freestanding monitor in the lower level of the house.

A Note About TVs: The Smart TVs have Xfinity Triple Play (cable), Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu, Disney+, and hundreds of streaming channels. Guests are welcome to bring their login info for these apps.

Additional Amenities: Corn hole available in summer.

Baby/Kid-Specific Items: A pack-n-play and highchair are provided.

The home was beautiful, but the neighborhood was VERY crowded and not what we were expecting (the pics made it seem a bit more secluded). Noise in the area traveled very easily. But overall, my girlfriends and I were able to relax and enjoy our weekend! -via Airbnb

Great place, clean and exactly what we needed for a family of 4. The hot tub was really nice and we had a blast relaxing while breathing in the fresh forest air. The only downside is the stairs to get into the house. It's very steep, so I would not recommend it to families with young children or elderly folks. Our 2 year old daughter took a bad fall on the steps, broke her head open on the cement, and had to go to the ER to get stitched up. -via Airbnb

This is a fabulous spot near the Russian River. Really clean and comfortable with so many wonderful details I could never list them all. My whole family, including our little dog, immediately felt right at home and already we're talking about going back again. This was a lovely place to stay as the hot tub was really nice, view from the kitchen was gorgeous, comfortable beds and living space. The only complaint we had was that the water tasted terrible, so we had to buy bottled water. They should supply bottled water as the tap water was undrinkable.-via Airbnb

It’s municipal water and it’s the first time we’ve heard from anyone about it. For future guests, the homeowners and our staff have tasted the water since reading this review and none thought it was unusual/bad. Since we didn’t know at the time, we couldn’t check it when the guest said something was wrong.

My wife and I were on a mini vacation to Sonoma County in late Oct. We rented this property based on the size, price, and location and it was perfect for us! We discussed it would also be perfect if you were traveling with another couple or 2 as well as a smaller family. The kitchen was great and well-stocked! We wanted a little R&R and that is what we got. The house was in a quiet neighborhood and very clean and well-decorated. The house was equipped with almost anything you could need. The location made it easy to explore the area from the ocean, to the forest, and the vineyards. My only suggestion would be a king-size bed in one of the rooms, my husband is 6'4 and a queen was a little bit small. My only complaint would be that I never received an answer to my query about the 200+ price difference between what was listed on VRBO & the price once I booked.-via Vrbo

We spent a week here exploring Sonoma County. Very nice, clean place to stay. Nice deck and outdoor space. Used the hot tub after days of tasting wine and eating at some great restaurants. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The best part was the view from the kitchen, so bright and airy. Nice and quiet neighborhood.-via Vrbo

This home was extremely well equipped. Only shortage was only one kitchen towel but lots of beach towels & even paddle boards we used on Russian River. Lots of stairs esp if using downstairs studio so would not be good for a disabled person. Fully enjoyed everything from the hot tub to the fire pit with the cozy lounge & very comfortable beds.

Versatile getaway

I was there with my wife and dog, plus teen for one night. Mirabel Heights is adorable neighborhood at a great location for all Sonoma has to offer. Under 30” to Russian River paddling, wine tasting, good restaurants, and a great walking/running trail from Forestville proper. And I would describe the summer weather we had as ideal: hot (but not oppressively so) from noon until evening, then very comfortable and quite cool overnight. Fog burns off much quicker than Berkeley for example. There are 2 different decks, one outside the door with perfect hot tub, BBQ grill and table for eating, nice umbrellas. Feels very private despite properties being close together. Downstairs furniture/sitting area is also very nice, and you could “stash” a teen or another couple in the separate unit downstairs. 2 things people might want to know: the inside dining area is a bit compact and awkward (in this season, the outside table more than made up for that), and the smaller paddle-board at least was not really functional/floating.-via Vrbo

I love this house! It’s cozy with lots of sunlight and all the amenities we needed. We spent lots of time on the patio indulging in our yummy finds from the farmers market and nearby wineries.. What makes the house even more amazing is the adorable neighborhood and nearby places to visit. Everyone is so friendly - and we did everything from floating down the river, catching a band at Rio Nido., and taking a day drive to the coast. I can’t wait to go stay there again - Such a great find!

We had such a relaxing and fun time at Forest Heights! The kids enjoyed Easter eg hunting in the gardens, playing card games on the deck, and watching YouTube videos galore at night while the adults chatted nearby and sipped delicious Russian River wine! The house was so clean and the kitchen was perfectly appointed for morning coffee, chocolate chip pancakes, and everything else our hearts desired (the air fryer was a delightful bonus!) Looking forward to our next vacation here, kicking our feet up, and breathing in that clean forest air! -The Kelly Family

As I contemplated returning to this gem of a property, I realized that I didn’t leave a review from my last stay! What a great place! I loved the proximity to the Sonoma airport; it was easy to get to so that I could begin relaxing right away. I also found the property to be close to beautiful trails, the river/beach, and a great little grocery store that was easy to walk to. A short drive will take you to towns with delicious restaurants for the travelers that want skip cooking and do some exploring. One of my favorite parts of the Forest Heights stay was the variety of areas available to relax. The cozy front porch, the well appointed living room, hot tub area, and a back yard with a fire pit to enjoy cool coastal evenings and a bottle of wine. Not to mention all the artful details like great landscaping and an awesome mural. I think these details show great care by the property owners.The rental has everything you need in the kitchen for heating up leftovers from one of the great restaurants close by, or making a full meal to enjoy along with the amazing views from the kitchen. All the bedrooms and bathrooms are also stocked with everything you need to be cozy and comfy. I highly recommend this vacation rental for couples, groups of friends, or multi-generational family visits. The split level, with a complete suite located downstairs, allows for the perfect amount of together time and the opportunity for space and privacy. If you’re going to Sonoma, this is the place to stay!

Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay at forest heights. The space was perfect with all the amenities we needed. Very close to Armstrong redwoods but our favorite part was the jacuzzi and the amazing views to the Russian river forest.
