Description

Caz-A-Verde is a darling, light-filled Cazadero cottage located across the street from Austin Creek. Tastefully furnished interiors and expansive outdoor spaces make for a unique and peaceful getaway from hectic daily life. Both indoors and outdoors have been lovingly arranged by Caz-A-Verde’s owners to create an environment ideal for relaxation and reconnecting with family and friends.

Outdoors, enjoy afternoons and evenings grilling on the gas grill, soaking in the hot tub and conversing around the firepit. Indoors, a comfortable open floorplan has a fully stocked kitchen, living area, and a dining table for six. For those needing to do some remote work, there is Comcast Wifi and a designated work space.

At Caz-A-Verde, daily adventures await. It is a short drive to the Sonoma Coast, with its long string of dog-friendly beaches, and to the Russian River for boating and swimming (a section of the Monte Rio Beach allows dogs). Charming towns, such as Bodega Bay, Occidental, Duncan’s Mills, Monte Rio and Guerneville, are a short drive away, and scenic drives are in all directions. World-class Sonoma County wineries are within a half hour drive.

Located on King Ridge Rd., a renowned road cycling route, experienced cyclers will find this an excellent base for Sonoma County rides.

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Caz-A-Verde is 6 people not including kids under 3 years old. Quiet hours are from 9:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times.

Parking: There is parking for a maximum of 4 vehicles in the gravel parking area in front of the house. The garage is not available for parking. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Bed Sizes: Bedroom 1: King Bed, Bedroom 2: Queen Bed, Office/Lower Level: Full Bed.

Heat Source: Wood stove in the living room. Electric wall-mounted heat/ac in the bedroom and downstairs office space.

Good Neighbor Policy: Our homes are located in neighborhoods, side by side with is a mix of permanent residents and vacation rentals, families, working folks, and visitors. We ask guests to park in the driveway and along the front fence and respect the quiet hours in addition to general family-friendly, residential neighborhood expectations. Thank you for helping to continue the tradition of a mutually beneficial relationship between vacation rentals and local community!

Stairs: Two flights of stairs from the parking area to front door. The interior is two stories. The main living spaces and both bedrooms are on the upper floor. The office space with Full bed is on the lower level. The outdoors is hillside and has multiple levels.

Pet Friendly: Up to 2 Dogs Allowed. Please check first if you are planning to bring a pet other than a dog.

Fencing: A portion of the yard is fully fenced.

Common Amenities not included: This home does not have Cable TV. There is a Smart TV with internet guests can use to log in to their Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, YouTube, and other accounts.

Proximity to wineries: For a beautiful drive west, check out Fort Ross Vineyards Tasting Room (reservation required), 11.2 mile drive (drive takes approx. 30 minutes on winding roads).
More concentrated areas of wineries are 21 miles or about a 35 minute drive east. Westside Rd and Hwy 116 are both popular wine tasting routes.

My partner and I visited in early September with our pups and found the home to be comfortable and thoughtfully stocked. The weather was warm so having the AC was helpful. Cazaverde was a lovely and peaceful getaway for our family of four and old dog. The place was beautifully decorated and very clean, gorgeous old house but with all the necessary modern remodeled. Really lovely deck and yard, very peaceful. And the creek across the street was fun for my small kids. We found the cabin to be a first-rate place to stay, we spent a long weekend with our daughter & 2 grandkids. The cabin was spotless & very comfortable for all of us. Kitchen was spacious & well-appointed with all appliances & utensils in good working order. The beds & furniture were comfortable. The backyard was very nice with a large table & chairs on the deck & a cozy gas fireplace made for a warm & inviting evening outside. The hot tub was a great addition, clean & easy to use. The upper level has a kids' play swing & slide, which my 6-year-old granddaughter loved. also, a lawn bowling & horseshoe pit was fun! We will definitely come back here!!!!!! -via Airbnb

Great house for my family of 4! We loved the open floor plan. Very comfy and cozy, nice hot tub, super clean! The yoga deck and hammock were an awesome little hideaway. We loved the access to Austin Creek; the little waterfall and beach were a lovely place to sit and relax. Walking distance to the general store. Very responsive to any issues (there weren’t any issues, but they answered our questions quickly!). Can’t wait to get to back to Cazadero! -via Airbnb

This was such a special home. I stayed there with my partner, two children, and two dogs. The house was so cute and functional. The AC worked great for hot days. Hot tub was in such a peaceful nature setting. Fireplace worked great for s’mores. I had to do some remote work and Zoom and the WI-FI was reliable and strong. Kitchen was user-friendly. Having the creek across the street was a big hit with the kids. Cazadero was a great location to have a quiet getaway and then to be able to go into Guerneville or out to the coast easily. The hosts were responsive and helpful. Also, their guidebook for the area was thorough and helpful. I can’t say enough good things. -via Airbnb

Great cabin in Cazadero with the right amenities for a peaceful stay. The outdoor hot tub was not functioning during our stay (unable to heat), but besides that the place was cozy and as advertised and made for a good stay.-via Airbnb

We have now stayed here twice and we love it! Its clean, kitchen is well stocked and the bed is comfortable. We have brought our lab and she loves the fenced yard. The hot tub is cozy under the cute outdoor lights. The highlight of the place, in my opinion, is the access to the swimming hole across the street. We swam every day, the perfect cool-down in the 90 degree weather. There is an outdoor shower just to add to my list of perfect amenities. Thanks again, we will be back next year!

We loved our stay at this cozy and elegant cottage. Well-stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds, and easy-to-use hot tub. It was also helpful having an additional mattress stored under our bed to pull out so our kids could share our bedroom (since the bonus room /futon is in the basement.) Perfect, quiet location, very private, clean. On one rainy day we were grateful to have the wood burning stove and hot tub. Our dog loved the beautiful fully fenced yard. Next time we will definitely take advantage of the yoga deck too! The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment. Each bedroom was comfortable and cozy. Can Walk to the general store in 10-15 minutes. Quick easy access to the creek as well which is right across the street from the house. We had an amazing stay. The house is private, cozy, and stocked with all the amenities you will need. They even included wood for the wood-burning stove which was so appreciated as many rentals make you haul in your own wood. The only issue we had was that we didn't want to leave. My husband, dogs & I visited this treasure for my b-day weekend. All I wanted to do was get away, turn our devices off & spend some peaceful & private time together as a family. This unique property delivered on all fronts. While we did say hello to both neighbors, it still felt private once on the unique patio. Our dogs had plenty of room to roam & explore safely while we could see them the whole time. The hot tub was so relaxing & was already hot when we arrived. We cooked & bbq’d & the home had everything we needed to do so. The bed was comfortable & the ceiling fan was great for keeping cool. It was the perfect place for us to unwind & just be together. I’m already itching to go back, hopefully in the winter next time so we can experience the cool weather. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the 4 o’clock check in seems so late for it to be considered “a day” & makes it hard to find things to do while managing our dogs too.And, it is a little pricey! Wonderful place to stay - one of the nicest AirBNBs that I have been to. The house was well decorated and clean, the outdoor space was great, and we loved the hot tub (which was all ready for our arrival). It would be a bit tight for six people (especially sharing one full bath), but it's fine for 3-4 people. River homes sent great instructions and were very responsive. Definitely want to stay again.-via Airbnb

Overall, we loved our stay in Cazadero. We spent lots of time at the creek, which was peaceful, private, and right across the street. The backyard was great and stocked with amenities. One reason we booked this stay was because the photos advertised a workspace with a futon. But, unfortunately, that area of the house is in a basement, which was too dank to be usable. It didn't ruin the stay by any means, but it's something to be aware of if you're intending to use the space. Otherwise, great location and great space!-via Airbnb

The house was just what we needed to escape the city for a few days: quiet, surrounded by nature and cozy. The living room was my favorite room in the house with the warm and cozy decorations. We enjoyed the mornings and evenings on the patio. The stars were amazing. The house was clean and well stocked. I would visit again!-via Vrbo

This was a comfortable stay for our family. We were staying there for my sister's memorial. Casa Verde was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The Propane tank to the gas burring fire pit was nearly empty, but there was the option to use natural wood. It was a minor oversight but, the surrounding property was over the top to accommodate a relaxing experience. The kitchen well equipped, everything else was just amazing, given the sadness for the event, La Casa Verde made the stay a comforting, relaxing and peaceful place to be for our family despite this sad personal journey. Caz-a-verde was the perfect get away for my little family! Peaceful and comfortable, surrounded by redwoods and close the the beautiful Russian river. It was also a very easy drive to the coast. My dog LOVED it as well!-via Airbnb

This is a wonderful property in a gorgeous setting. It felt very private surrounded by trees, but it was just a quite drive to the Russian River. The place is exactly like the pictures and has everything we needed. We particularly liked eating in the backyard and the hot tub. The beds were very comfortable as well! I would definitely stay again.-via Airbnb

Beautiful and peaceful place! Loved the easy creek access across the road. The place has everything we needed and we felt right at home. No central heat but the space heaters and fire worked well enough. I recommend it for a peaceful retreat with plenty of fun things to do in nature.-via Airbnb

Loved this place. we have stayed all over but before we even left I was thinking of how soon to return. The river is quite special, the wineries all within a comfortable distance, Goat Rock Beach was incredible. Bring some wine and cheese and set up camp right on the beach. Andy's produce and the nearby Barlow were perfect for shopping and local produce. star gazing at night in the hot tub and bbqing on the grill were a great way to end the night. sliding door in the main room made it perfect to open in the morning to listen to the birds and morning wildlife. Again 100% loved this stay!-via Airbnb

The place is lovely. It has a gorgeous patio and a wonderful rustic, terraced backyard with a charming yoga platform in the woods. The kitchen is great and has everything you could need. The only drawback is the downstairs office, i.e. the third bedroom, is a bit of a schlepp for the person who sleeps there and the linens were a little hard to find.-via Airbnb

great location on Austin Creek

This home is tidy, well kept and in a great location on Austin Creek. The creek was running strongly and the sound was soothing. We were informed just before arriving that the central heat didn't work, but they did leave a little extra firewood and starter items for the woodstove. Note that not all of the firewood onsite fits in the woodstove (though they might correct that). The hot tube worked well and they pre-heated it for us; nice touch. The beds are reasonably comfortable and everything was very clean when we arrived. I give the host an A+ for communication and professionalism. I would use them again, and we'd stay here again. That's the highest compliment.-via Airbnb
