Description

Green Valley Retreat is a magnificently remodeled home with many high-end amenities. This wine country gem is located in an agricultural community that is celebrated for the Farm to Table food movement. Charming and renowned restaurants and wineries are minutes away, but you can pick fresh produce from the massive guest garden and orchard. Additional fruit trees are scattered throughout the property. With a large in-line gas BBQ on the back deck, and choice dining in or outside, guests love cooking in as much as going out. The kitchen boasts plentiful counter space, deluxe appliances and quality accessories.

The attention to details like original artwork, ample lighting, 60+ inch TV and access to fresh cut flowers from the garden make for an excellent retreat. The main house boasts 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms along with an office/laundry room, and living and dining areas off the large kitchen. Just outside - off the back deck - are an additional full bathroom and an outdoor shower for your trips to the pool and hot tub (built into the pool).

The Pool House offers an additional sleeping space with a Queen Murphy bed and sleeper sofa in case your group isn't all couples - the maximum occupancy is still 6 people total. It's also a media room - perfect for movie time - and things like a break from the sun and gourmet coffee station.

In addition to the gardens and front yard orchard, the backyard contains a meadow of native bunch grasses - not your typical lawn - along with a stand of redwood trees, oodles of flowers, multiple seating areas, and one of our favorite built-in propane fire pits. BYOM (Bring Your Own Marshmallows). You may never want to go home!

Traveling for work? Everyone can have their own bed at Green Valley Retreat. This is an excellent location for your off-site executive retreat!

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours:
The maximum occupancy at Green Valley Retreat is 6 people. Quiet hours are from 9:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times.

Parking:
There is parking for 3 cars parked in tandem in the driveway. The garage is not available for parking. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Bed Sizes:
Master bedroom: Queen bed; Second bedroom: Queen bed and Twin rolling trundle; Third bedroom: Queen bed; Pool house: Queen Murphy bed and Queen sofa bed.

Heat/Cooling Sources:
The main house has central heating and a woodstove in the living room, but there is no air conditioning. Each bedroom has ceiling fans. The Pool House has a separate heating system and does have A/C.

Road to Green Valley Retreat:
Green Valley Road is a country road - paved, with some pot holes, and no special vehicle is required. We provide detailed written driving directions to confirmed guests.

Pool and Hot Tub Temperatures:
POOL: The pool's solar heating system is switched on April through October. Since this is solar heating, the temperature of the pool can vary depending on the amount of sun and the current air temps. Typically, the pool will be around 82° end of May through September. The pool is not heated November through March. It will be cold, but you may still use it.

HOT TUB: The hot tub is built into the pool. Once turned on, it will heat to approximately 102°. During the summer, it will heat up quickly. During the rest of the year, depending on how cold the water is, it can take 45 minutes or longer to heat up. The hot tub heater shuts off after 3 hours but can be reactivated. It does not operate between midnight and 7 am.

The Meadow:
In the backyard is a meadow of native bunch grasses. It is not a lawn and is not mowed like a lawn. The grass is very sturdy and more drought tolerant. Feel free to walk, run, romp and play in the meadow!

Stairs:
There are several sets of 2 to 4 steps throughout the property - all outside. Inside the main house and the main front and back decks are all on one level. The Pool House is a separate building and down 3 or 4 steps depending which path you take.

Fencing:
The back yard is fully fenced.

TV: Roku Smart TV. Guests need to provide their own login info for streaming services.

Proximity to Wineries:
Iron Horse Vineyards is the closest winery with a tasting room just 1.8 miles from the house. There are at least a dozen wineries within a few miles.

Nearest Russian River Beaches:
Two great beaches are each 8.3 miles from the house: Johnson's Beach in Guerneville and Mother's Beach in Forestville.

Nearest Ocean Beaches:
Coastal beaches such as Goat Rock Beach in Jenner and Doran Beach to the south are each about 18 miles from the house.

We had a wonderful stay in Sebastopol, would love to return sometime soon! The house is inviting, spacious and we enjoyed the outdoor sprawl of the deck and pool. Absolutely stunning property - we stayed 3 nights and I honestly wish we had more time to utilize everything the home had to offer! The outdoor area is a dream…from the gardens full of fruit, flowers, and veggies to pick, the fire pit area for roasting s’mores, several different places to relax and dine, and the spacious pool and hot tub. And I loved the clean and boho chic vibe inside the house as well. River Homes in Sebastopol was wonderful! The location was peaceful, a great place to disconnect from the daily life. We loved the garden and enjoyed picking some fruits, vegetables, and flowers from it. The pool area and pool itself was perfect. We’ve stayed in Airbnbs in five continents, and this was one of the most beautiful. I may never get over the garden, our children picking fresh blueberries and strawberries and popping them straight into their mouths! The kitchen was unbelievably stocked, a culinary enthusiasts dream- we laughed every time they happened to have an obscure cooking gadget we’d wished they had. Fresh basil, onions, apples, berries, mint, pansies- each were inspiring additions to our dish. In addition to the gorgeous garden and kitchen, we loved the pool and hot tub, pool house, outdoor shower and bathroom. The cover on the pool brought peace of mind when not in use too. They thought of every detail in stocking this home- linens, supplies, books, coffee, etc. I felt spoiled. Wear your sandals out on the deck, we all had quite a few splinters! All in all, it was a gorgeous home, private, and great for winding down with home cooked meals and a nice bottle of wine.-via Airbnb

Beautiful home, amazing outdoor space, and a great location! Well stocked and very clean. Comfortable and modern feel - the outdoor space was the real highlight, including a wonderful garden and pool area. Only issue we had was that the wifi was a bit spotty but other than that it was a great stay-via Airbnb

This place was gorgeous! We had a very well equipped kitchen, the pool was amazing, the garden provided figs, tomatoes, fresh herbs. It was in a quiet location a bit off the beaten path-so organizing transportation in advance or renting a car is a good idea (we used Sonoma Sterling Limo). The hot tub required at least an hour to heat up if you wanted to use it. The beds were comfortable, there was a washer/ dryer and plenty of towels for all of us. This was a belated 40th birthday gathering of 6 girlfriends and we absolutely loved it. Highly recommend.-via Airbnb

Amazing house and garden! Eating fresh apples, pears, tomatoes and lettuce from the garden was a real treat. The pool and hot tub are amazing and we spent most of our time there. We had an issue with the pool controls not working, and the management company and owner promptly responded and fixed the issue. This property caught my eye several years ago when I was daydreaming about staying in wine county in style. My family and I finally took the opportunity to visit and we wish we could have stayed longer. At no point did we wish the property had something it didn’t have.. Every aspect of this retreat is truly that & so very well thought out. It’s a beautiful, functional piece of art that leaves you feeling completely pampered and satisfied at the end of the day. We loved Green Valley Retreat and hope to be back next year for a longer stay. Without hesitation I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you so much for a blissful time GVR!

The house offered many spaces for some privacy in addition to lovely gathering areas inside and on the back deck. We enjoyed exploring the local area as well as just chilling in the hot tub and making meals. We made yummy kale salads from the garden and cut flower arrangements. What an amazing retreat. We loved everything about this house. The gardens and surroundings are amazing and serene. The kitchen is bright, spacious and amazingly well stocked. We found everything we needed and more. The bedrooms were a great size with comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. Everything was spectacularly clean, and the design was modern and elegant. We loved all the thoughtful touches like firewood of different sizes to help start the wood stove and detailed home instructions.

We'll be back!

Amazing home, amazing location, amazing amenities. This was beyond perfect for a quick weekend getaway to catch up with friends and escape from the weekday grind. From the first moment we stepped onto the back deck, we knew this rental would rise to the top of our short list for future getaways. Usually in a rental review I'll try to give a heads up to help future guests avoid problems, but none needed here - there are no drawbacks and only relaxation in your future. Thank you to the hosts!!

This is a great property for a weekend away! We loved the garden, the house is immaculate and well decorated, and love the automated shades, pool cover, and general investment in quality cook ware. Some small touches that would make it even more approachable: some laundry detergent, aluminum foil, and plastic wrap for folks staying here for more than a few days would make sense given how stocked the kitchen is already and there are not that many towels, which means you have to do laundry. Would come back!

Beautiful home, with a gorgeous and bountiful garden. Really well-stocked kitchen for cooks. The pool and hot tub were perfect. And the team at Russian River Vacation Homes were so professional and easy to work with. We would definitely rent this place again.

This was our second stay: beautiful property: clean, functional, tasteful. Very comfortable beds, excellent linens, stocked with everything you need from the kitchen to the bathrooms. The pool, the hot tub, the BBQ...everything works as it should. Pretty area, quiet and relaxing. Would book again without hesitation.

Absolutely amazing stay and cannot wait to go back! The place is even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. A few things we loved:1. The house was sparkling clean and well decorated.2. The kitchen was beyond well stocked. Everything you could need was there and more. Bring your groceries or have Whole Foods deliver and you never have to leave!3. The whole house is hooked up to a Sonos sound system and you can play Spotify music with a touch of a button.4. The garden is out of this world - plenty of fresh lettuce, chard, and winter greens. 5. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of pillows and extra blankets.A few minor tweaks on a basically perfect house:1. The deck had splinters, could use a fresh seal.2. Bring your own coffee ground or beans!3. The bath towels were pretty starched and crisp and were uncomfortable.All in all, we will definitely be back. I cannot recommend this home enough!

Hands down the best Airbnb we have stayed in. The house set up is so comfortable and they have every appliance, cookware, spice that you could need. The outdoor space is the star of the show - the landscaping is incredible and the deck/pool are just perfect. You never have to leave the house. HIGHLY recommend!-via AirBnB

I can't express how much my family enjoyed being at the property. It was a great mix of form and function and a bit of magic. Loved the outdoor shower! We had one small issue with the spa, but we called Russian River homes and they were polite and addressed the issue quickly. We will be back!

You will want to buy this home and never leave!!

Our stay at Green Valley Retreat exceeded our expectations in every way. The house is aesthetically beautiful, but also practical and well-designed for guest use. The kitchen was well-stocked and had everything a home cook could possibly want. The pool was amazing and the temperature perfect. House was immaculate and welcoming. We loved the quiet and peacefulness of the area. The garden is AMAZING and we made daily use of the fresh herbs. We truly loved this home and look forward to returning!

The house was immaculately kept, everything labeled to make easy to find and operate lights and appliances. It was very tastefully designed from interior to landscape, brilliantly thought out, and constructed in a very high quality manner. It just felt like home (maybe better) from the moment we walked in. All features were exactly as advertised. A real treat. By far the best rental we have stayed at over the years.

We had a fantastic time in your very beautiful both inside and out house in Sebastopol. Everything is sparkling clean, decorated in good taste and fully fully equipped! We loved being inside and outside at beautiful pool and deck. My wife was thrilled to spend her birthday there with her family! We have rented many homes and none of them compare to this one! A piece of heaven!

Six flight attendants gathering for a very special birthday! The house is amazing-the pictures really do not do this beautiful house justice. The kitchen has everything that you can ever want or need for cooking and entertaining. The bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were nicely appointed. The out door space was truly amazing, we loved the pool and the fire pit. The garden was very lovely and we picked fresh herbs everyday for our meals. We did feel that the quite hours where very strict, but that really wasn't a big deal. The biggest complaint that I had was when we arrived the outdoor trash and recycling bins where full to the brim already. We ended up taking our recycling to Whole Foods to dump in there recycling bins. I did email the email provided about this issue, but did not receive a response. All and all it was a amazing house and help create amazing memories. This was the most gorgeous rental I have stayed in, in a perfect location in wine country! Our one year old twins loved the pool, which has a nice wading area as well as a deep end. Taking in the stars in the hot tub was excellent. The kitchen was stocked with top end appliances and gear, which made cooking a treat. My only advice would be to wear shoes on the outdoor deck as we got a few splinters. Can't wait to come back!!

Beautiful property. Even better when you get it at the offseason rate. It is perfect for entertaining but the strict rules in regards to occupants/visitors really limits the opportunity.-Airbnb Guest-From Russian River Vacation Homes:Thank you so much for staying with us! We are so glad that you enjoyed the house - and the off season rate! =) We shall hope to host you again! Sonoma County does have very specific occupancy and quiet hour criteria that all homes must adhere to in order to be permitted. Green Valley Retreat can have 8 people during the day, and 6 guests overnight. Quiet hours are from 10:00pm to 9:00am, and the extra two day guests would need to leave the property by the time quiet hours begin. We appreciate our guests cooperation with this criteria. =)

We stayed at this property for a family weekend and had a wonderful time. The house was amazing and exceeded expectations. The kitchen was a joy to work in and made it possible to have some fantastic meals. Great location with easy access. We're planning to come back and stay during the summer so we can enjoy the amazing back yard and pool!

Loved this property, and my husband who is a Chef loved this kitchen. We've stayed in many different vacation homes and this one by far exceeded our expectations in the kitchen department. It was stocked with every kind of utensil and appliance needed, plenty of platters and plates for our Christmas dinner. The setting was beautiful, and so relaxing. The perfect getaway from the city. I do wish that there was a TV in the living room of the main house (we missed our yule log) but we quickly were able to adapt and entertain ourselves.Cant wait to come back during the summer and enjoy the pool!!

We rented this house over Thanksgiving weekend and it was fantastic. The house and property are in exceptional condition and the house is very well stocked and organized. There is everything you need to cook, dine, read, and play (even games for kids too!). The surroundings are peaceful and quiet. The hot tub/spa is new and so nice. All of the information provided about the area is great too. We know (and love) this area of Sonoma well and all recommendations and nearby listings are excellent and spot on.
