Description

Sequoia Beach Dreamery is perfect for couples, and anyone who wants a break from kids, caretaking, or work. This peaceful cottage is an easy getaway for celebrating a birthday, anniversary, a dream come true ... or for creating new dreams.

“The Dreamery,” as it is affectionately known, overlooks a sandbar beach on Big Austin Creek. It’s easy to get to and it’s a bit off the busy tourist track. A recent guest wrote: "This is a perfect location, close to the coast and the Russian River wineries ... and secluded enough to make us feel like we got away. This is our new favorite place!"

The owner’s attention to detail is legendary, with thoughtful touches that offer an ongoing sense of greeting. The home is tastefully decorated in the Craftsman style with Zen elements and Japanese art. It features a well-equipped kitchen, luxuriously remodeled bathroom with radiant-heat floors, comfy beds, cozy fireplace, and Smart TV entertainment options.

Light, airy bedrooms open directly onto a spacious deck with views of the redwood forest, creek, and swimming hole.

A second bedroom provides flexibility when two guests do not sleep in the same bedroom. The extra space is also set up to serve as an office for guests to work remotely.

Outdoors, you’ll enjoy a gas BBQ and dining area, a unique hot-water shower at the base of soaring redwoods, star-gazing from the hot tub, a calming Japanese garden, and -- most importantly -- peaceful intimacy with Nature. Year-round Austin creek is home to protected steelhead salmon, giant blue herons, kingfishers, egrets, ducks, and playful river otters.

Guests love summer at The Dreamery, but the off-season is equally glorious. Summer visitors give way to waterfalls, and the atmosphere becomes even more peaceful. If you enjoy gentle pursuits like romancing, reading, writing, and relaxing, you'll love The Dreamery.

Sequoia Beach Dreamery is near the village of Cazadero in the Russian River/Sonoma Coast resort area -- just 90 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge.

An authentic "Country Store" and coffee shop/bakery are a quick walk or bike ride away. It's a short drive to the Sonoma Coast where the Russian River meets the mighty Pacific Ocean. And even when the coast is foggy, you'll appreciate the sunny "banana belt" weather in this protected microclimate.

When guests are ready to explore, The Dreamery is within easy day trips to a variety of experiences including world-class wineries, casual and fine restaurants, charming country towns, Armstrong Woods Redwood Preserve, Northwood golf course, Jenner by-the-Sea, and breathtaking Sonoma beaches. Outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, and biking abound in this eco-adventure paradise. And once you get here, you may not want to leave (ever!).

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy is 2 people total, including children and infants. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Parking: On-site parking is permitted for a maximum of 2 vehicles. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Bed Sizes: First Bedroom: Queen Bed with adjustable firmness control (Sleep Number brand), Second Bedroom: Double Bed

Heat Source: Central heat, gas fireplace, radiant floor heat in the main bathroom.

Work from Here: A comfy chair, desk, desk lamp, and surge protector are set up in the 2nd bedroom along with an ethernet cable for direct Internet connections.

Perfect Zen getaway

This place is exactly as described, but the pictures don't show you the immense beauty of the property. The sequoias truly are amazing, and they are everywhere! The views from the hot tub are just spectacular. The entire Zen vibe is felt throughout the home, and the entire area. We visited wine country, the Armstrong Redwood Reserve, and the pacific coast highway 1. This area is so beautiful, and the scenery changes every 30 minutes! There are so many scenic drives you can take. Inside, this home is well equipped, everything was in good working order, and it was very clean. The extra touches by the owner add to this wonderful getaway experience! The informative notes and info book by the owner we found very interesting and helpful. Drink the Water! It is clear, and delicious. And if not for the owner's note encouraging us to drink it, we would never have even tried it. They left us a bottle of wine, 2 glasses and candles. So when we arrived much later than expected (flight got cancelled) and well after dark on our anniversary, we had a nice relaxing drink and settled in. We highly recommend this home to anyone looking to get away from it all and just relax among the Sequoia trees. - via Vrbo (owner listing)

This was just the kind of weekend escape my husband and I needed. Being in the woods and right next to a stream was just dreamy and peaceful. I loved that the host left us bird seeds, and when we scattered them in the morning, lots of birds came down. Having my morning coffee with the sounds of birds was the best! This is an exceptionally beautiful cabin situated right next to Austin Creek. There was plenty of space, a great new bathroom with a radiant heated floor, hot tub with outdoor shower and a large deck where we could sit outside and watch/listen to all the birds and cool off in the creek. We're definitely planning to return here -via Airbnb

We had a lovely time at the Dreamery! It was just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. The view from the deck and proximity to the creek was fantastic. We saw so many birds, especially acorn woodpeckers, and we loved that the owner provided birdseed to share with them! Also loved soaking in the hot tub and gazing up at the redwoods. This staycation was a dream! I say staycation because this is an air bnb you don’t want to leave often. So peaceful and beautiful. It’s just what we needed. We felt we were in the middle of nowhere but were also close to the coast and close to towns with plenty to do which is exactly what we wanted. We went to Bodega while we were there.. Sonoma Coast Winery.. Guerneville to eat (Boon was amazing).. The General Store (adorable).. and still had plenty of time to relax in the spa and on the mostly private backyard beach at the bnb (it felt private because it seemed the few houses surrounding were vacant or just very quiet). We are for sure coming back as soon as possible! PS this place looks even better in person! Any pictures I posted from my trip, were followed up with “can you please send me the link to this dream place?” by friends and family! Highly recommend! -via Airbnb

I am stunned and delighted by the natural beauty and comfort of this home. My friend and I constantly discovered yet another amazing feature to love and want to make this "our place" for friend weekends. Perfectly situated to take advantage of the natural beauty. Geographically the best location for exploring Jenner, Guerneville or just to stay out..which is what we did. Our senses were alive with the views, the art, the birds, fish and sound of the creek. 10/10 will return.

What a beautiful oasis! We are so grateful for our stay at The Dreamery. Truly a very special place. All the personal touches made this stay feel personal and special . Some of our favorite sweet details were the preset timers for the fire place/ and heating system, heated bathroom floor, outdoor shower, and hot tub, birdseed for the sweet birds, the views and so much more. We enjoyed this peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle. Very thoughtful touches throughout the house. Birds chirping and creek flowing in the backyard. The only minor complaint we had was there were a group of people directly in the back in the creek playing loud music and drinking. Not sure how they had access- they may have walked from somewhere but that was a small inconvenience. My partner and I enjoyed our time there though- the hot tub was amazing too. We can’t wait to come back in the future!

We had an excellent stay at the Dreamery. It helped us relax into a state of zen. Tucked amongst beautiful redwoods, nestled along the river. We enjoyed the hot tub while the stream flowed by. Christmas Week at the Dreamery!

We had a wonderful stay over Christmas! The weather was a bit chilly so we really enjoyed the hot tub and the fireplace! And we were happy to see a couple of Christmas decorations in the living area! It was a short drive to the coast where there had been some major off-shore storms creating tremendous waves! So fun to watch! The back road to Fort Ross was a great drive! I have been raving about this stay in Cazadero every day since we left. My partner and I wanted a long weekend away from the hustle of everyday life, and we couldn’t have asked for a better house or a better host. The property is so tranquil but also equipped with everything we needed. I had to use the wi-fi for some conference calls with work, and it was super fast. We honestly spent most of our days out on the deck or sitting near the creek. We absolutely loved our stay and have been looking for dates on when we can come back. For our 22nd anniversary, there was only one place we wanted to go, this special home in Cazadero where we visited two times in the past. The home is amazing. The spirit of the place brings you to a place of peace and calm. The environment of Austin Creek, complete with old-growth redwoods, birds, and a group of foxes is more than anyone can expect. This was our third visit to Andrew's Dreamery. He is the consummate host and an outstanding communicator. The attention to detail both inside and out shines through. The house is perfect! In an ideal location on the creek, and the inside is extremely comfortable. Great bed, updated and roomy bathroom and shower with rain and handheld device and plenty of hot water. The location is a slice of heaven among Redwoods and steps away from the water of gorgeous Austin Creek. An easy ride to stocking provisions, and though there are many fine dining options a short drive away, we didn't want to leave the Dreamery! The owners' description of features/amenities is spot-on; all are carefully considered and maintained. Communication with kind and friendly owner Andrew and with management was responsive and impeccable. It's a cozy place in an idyllic setting for reflection and renewal. Can't wait to come back!!

Andrew's place was exactly what I needed for a tranquil retreat. The kitchen was well-appointed, the bed was soft and cozy, the new bathroom (with heated floors!) was lovely, and the little thoughtful details - like leaving birdseed to put out with a cute note - were delightful. We had a wonderful weekend at the Dreamery. We’ve been to a lot of AirBnBs and this is one of our favorites. The house is in a stunning setting by Austin Creek and was clean and comfortable. And the hot tub was a delight! The hosts are fantastic with providing clear instructions for arrival, check-in, and everything in the home. It’s an easy drive to the ocean, Armstrong Redwoods State Park, and Guerneville and Duncan’s Mills. We would absolutely come back again.-via Airbnb

We stayed two nights at the beginning of our vacation, which helped us to decompress and set the tone for a relaxing time. The trees are simply majestic. The Dreamery had everything we needed to bring a bag of clothes, some groceries and just make ourselves at home. Notes on the premises and amenities were easy to understand. Neither one of us wanted to leave the spa shower! We found this location close to the coast, the redwoods, lively nightlife just up the road in Guerneville and vineyards. While cell service wasn't great in the area, at the Dreamery, wifi allowed for internet calling without an issue. But then again, maybe being "unplugged" isn't such a bad thing either. Neighbors were close, but very friendly, quiet and respectful. And there are skylights throughout the house that we didn't realize were there as we had arrived after dark our first night. This truly is a special place.!

As beautiful and serene as everyone said it was in prior reviews! The home is definitely well-loved by the owner. Extremely clean (NO DUST anywhere!) Only comments: home isn't as far off the road as we thought, so we heard cars/motorcycles but still very private for us. Kitchen sink was clogged on one side when we arrived, but the management company was very responsive and got it fixed quickly.-via Airbnb

the right level of seclusion

Overall we absolutely loved our long weekend here. And we would certainly visit and stay here again. The home was lovely and relaxing and peaceful. It was just the right level of seclusion, but still having access nearby communities when you needed a little more than the general store up the road provided. It was the perfect place for a getaway to disconnect for a few days, and still be able to explore the greater area. A couple quick things to note are just to be aware that your cellphone service might be very limited. We took this as a plus and we’re able to communicate from the house with wifi, or once we got out to a specific destination. The next thing to note is that the pictures show a sand bar below the property. This area is technically public access so there may be people down there. This happened to us once for a couple hours but that’s it. It didn’t ruin anything for us, but just be aware if you’re on the deck or in the hot tub.-via Airbnb

Hello Jacob, Thank you for your review! You are correct about the cell phone service in the area. Depending on your phone carrier you may not get reception, however, we always advise guests to turn on the "wi-fi calling" setting on their phones just in case.
There is also a landline at the home for guest use. The creek access from the home is for guests, and there may be neighbors out enjoying the creek as well across the way! We are so glad you enjoyed Sequoia Beach Dreamery and we would love to host you again :)

This was the perfect place for us to spend time with friends. We could have easily spent our entire time just relaxing on the porch, cooking meals together in the cute kitchen overlooking the redwoods, and swimming in the crystal clear water of Cazadero Creek. We took some convenient day trips to Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve and to Sonoma State Beach — and we were always happy to come home to the comfort of this cute house by the creek. The entire space is so well considered — it was clear that the property is cared for and holds special meaning to those who come here. We'll definitely be back.-via Airbnb

We loved our stay the Dreamery. It was the perfect way to celebrate a special birthday-- not far from a town, but far enough removed from a vacation-centric area that you feel remote. We never even made it to the ocean, we were so content to sit by the creek all day and take a short walk to the nearby country store. The water was not too cold, so I was glad we brought some floaties for ourselves. The kitchen has everything you need to pull together a meal. It really is a dream of a retreat home.-via Airbnb

This property is set into the surrounding nature seamlessly. We enjoyed our stay and would like to return. It’s a quiet spot where you wake up to enjoy the birds and the sound of Austin creek flowing past. Everywhere you look are stone hearts, reminders of what’s truly important. Inside was everything we needed for a long weekend away. The hot tub is perfect for relaxing while taking in the giant redwoods. This exceeded the listing! There were so many little touches that added to the overall vibe. We ventured out during the day and found ourselves wanting to get back. When we came, the creek was full from rain and so beautiful! We had some excitement of a falling tree that transversed the creek and spooked the birds for a day. The hot tub experience in the forest was bliss. The house was simple but cool mid century, like we traveled back in time but with modem comforts. It's filled with music, movies, and books. We were lucky enough to spend 4 days at The Dreamery over Christmas 2022. From the hot tub and towering redwoods to the amazing sleep-number queen bed with super soft, warm bedding - we were in heaven. There was a major rain event while we were here and we enjoyed the gas fireplace tremendously. It was really cool to see the changes in the creek size following the rain. Our only outing was a walk into town. Our only negative feedback was that the living room couch was different (smaller) than was shown in the photos. Otherwise, the property was just as advertised and perfect for our much-needed holiday escape.-via Vrbo

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home! It was so peaceful and relaxing. We had everything we needed. Perfect location to visit wineries and the coast while still being out of the city. But I truly could have never left the house and would have enjoyed every minute! Andrew provided great communication and was quick to respond. My only recommendation would be for more cozy seating to enjoy the living room and fireplace. We absolutely adored the dreamery! It was the perfect spot for our annual girls trip. We enjoyed sitting out and listening to the birds, relaxing in the hot tub, and just soaked up the time without kids! The beds were very comfortable and the house was spotless. The binder came with so much great info and we enjoyed the bottle of wine! Thank you so much! If you’re coming to this house make sure to check out the pizza joint up the street. The view is amazing. There are many properties located by the Austin creek, or other streams off of Russian river, but few offer such beautiful river view. The water is too cold to swim at the end of May, but my kid had lots of fun playing in it nonetheless.-via Airbnb

The cabin is in a truly awesome location on Austin Creek with a wonderful beach and swimming hole. Cazadero village is an easy 1/2 mile walk away, and great hiking opportunities abound. At the same time, Jenner, Monte Rio and Guerneville are easy drives, which is nice for dinner out. The house itself is very nicely appointed, and the hot tub overlooking the creek is superb. My husband and I visited for our anniversary and found this to be an excellent place to disconnect and reconnect. There are so many details that provided us a comfortable, peaceful stay. We both felt it was the cleanest place we have ever visited! The bed was heavenly! The host is so thoughtful, providing little tips everywhere so you never have to guess how to operate the fireplace, TV, hot tub, etc. It was an amazing place! Lovely stay in the redwoods! We had a great time in the house and had everything we needed. The house was very clean and check in was easy, however I did receive a lot of emails/instructions that went to my spam folder but once we got that sorted out, no issue! The house is about 20 minutes from the town of Guerneville, Cazadero doesn't have really anything other than a general store from what we could see. nice spot about 20 minutes from the beautiful coast as well and an hour from Sonoma!-via Airbnb

We had an amazing, extremely quiet and peaceful few days. Most homes nearby seem unoccupied so there really isn't anybody in sight. My favorite magic touch from the host is having a cup of bird seeds which attracted a TON of birds, a cat (ate the sunflower seeds) and we were lucky enough to see a group of river otters float by the river. The fireplace, newly remodeled bathroom with radiant floor, smart TV, cable ready work station makes this dream rental a perfect staycation as well. The Japanese Onsen grade outdoor hot tub with full privacy makes this home a perfect getaway for any celebration!-via Airbnb

We have been returning to Sequoia Beach Dreamery over many years and enjoyed it in every season. We have been there during a November storm when the Creek was well on it's way to flooding; in hot weather when the swimming hole was most welcome and this time, when Austin Creek was little more than a puddle. It was still beautiful, revealing yet another side - we saw come black tailed deer come down the hill looking for water, while a heron sat on the big rock that is usually in the middle of the pool. We also walked along the creek bed, which offered a very unique view of the area. We have found it a relaxing place to stay in any weather - and look forward to coming again. This trip we enjoyed sitting on the deck; the gas fireplace in the living room; feeding the birds with the birdseed that is always left for that purpose; and just the lovely relaxing ambiance of the well named Dreamery. We look forward to coming back soon.

This was our first family trip post 2020 COVID year and it did not disappoint. The house was clean and spotless and fully equipped with all necessities needed to just stay in and relax. Our days were filled with feeding birds, playing in the creek outside, small hikes and enjoying the hot tub among the redwood trees . The location is pretty secluded and it felt like we had a private beach all to ourselves. The nights were then packed with board games and netflix binging (yes the wifi worked great). Will definitely plan to come again. Thank you for such an amazing stay.

Many times in renting a home, pictures look better than actual. In this case, they lived up and exceeded expectations. House in great condition, everything clean, attentively detailed; and the bathroom...I only wish I had that at home. A modern comfort in an old fashioned home. The tranquility of the surroundings, despite being right next to the highway, was just what i needed during these crazy times of the pandemic. I intend to be back.

Our stay at the Sequoia Beach Dreamery was truly a dream. We were greeted by the most beautiful and secluded house with a lovely private beach along the creek. We spent hours exploring the creek, finding frogs, and splashing in the water. We were left a beautiful bottle of wine with a thoughtful note and even birdseed to sprinkle on the deck, which brought so many wonderful bird friends for us to watch. We especially enjoyed our nighttime hot tubs surrounded by the giant trees! The house was spotless which was so important to us during Covid. We appreciate all the special care taken to keeping it especially clean and sanitized. We cannot wait to go back and enjoy the beautiful Dreamery again! The Dreamery is a beautiful retreat. We loved everything about our stay. The property was gorgeous - we loved the creek, the beautiful deck and feeding the Stellar's Jays and Acorn Woodpeckers every morning. The interior of the home was so peaceful and we enjoyed the Japanese decor. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed catching up on much needed sleep. We appreciated the clean home and the 24 hour empty period that was blocked prior to our stay to ensure cleanliness during the pandemic.Our only regret is that we weren't able to book a longer stay this time - we'll be back for a full week as soon as possible! Thanks for welcoming us into your beautiful home.

We've stayed at lots of different properties in Russian River. Though they all end up fairly pleasant, this is one of the rare ones where we feel like "gotta go back." Had everything we needed. The owner has done so much to make this space super user-friendly, peaceful, and restful. Beautiful spot on the creek where we did lots of lounging and dipping. Highly recommend this spot, just don't ask for the dates that we want!

The best tranquility escape! Absolutely lovely! Equipped with everything you need.Only side comment: hot tub went off a couple times due to the circuit breaker, perhaps it needs it's own power line.I cannot wait to return!

This is without a doubt the nicest Airbnb I have very stayed at! So many small touches and amenities, the host has really gone above and beyond with this property. My girlfriend and I just loved it and will definitely be booking it again as our staycation favorite!Via AirBnB

We loved the peaceful atmosphere with the sequoia trees next to the creek. The bird seeds to encourage bird watching was a nice touch. The logs of wood to set a cozy fire in the fireplace made the evenings very relaxing. The home was very clean and inviting, would gladly stay again!via AirBnB

Wow. We absolutely loved the dreamery. The only negative was having to leave. We felt 1000 miles from home even tho we only live 90 minutes away. The house is extremely cozy, with so much open space outside that felt incredibly private, and quieter than I thought anywhere could be. We can't wait to go back.-Airbnb Guest-

This home met all of our needs with amenities, and a serene atmosphere, beyond what the pictures are able to show. The Sequoia Beach Dreamery has it all. It's a beautiful location with towering redwoods and the bluest water we've ever seen. It's the perfect distance to be away from crowds but still close enough to enjoy hiking on the coast or at Armstrong Redwood state park. Very welcoming and we appreciated the personal touches by the owner as well. Manager Response:Thank you! We're so glad you were able to join us at Sequoia Beach Dreamery. The home is to be experienced. You are surrounded by Redwood Trees and face a beautiful river. The home is detailed with stunning wood and offers all the comforts you need. A must stay! We feel blessed these owners open up this special home for us to experience!

Beautiful location among the redwoods. Secluded and quiet yet only minutes away from everything you need (including Raymond's bakery and small towns). Lots of nature hikes and coastal trails within a reasonable distance. The place itself has a nice kitchen, really good updated bathroom, and a hot tub in an ideal setting. The river is literally your front yard, and it's so soothing to be in nature. The living room furniture could be more comfortable and modern but other than that, a completely perfect stay!

It was exactly what my family and I needed. The property was beautiful, the weather was perfect and it just felt good to be there. The bathroom was very well done and the kitchen is a well kept blast from the past. Reminded me of grandmas house (only in the best way!). Very well kept and comfortable. The view of the creek is mesmerizing and I found myself sitting on the back deck simply staring off into nature.My dealings with Russian River Homes was very good and easy. Very nice with updates and just on the ball.We spent 4 nights here and would love to come back. My family loved the place, lots of things to do for the kids, and it was very nicely priced.Could not have been more pleased!!!

Absolutely beautiful property! Far enough away from Guerneville, close enough to everything but you'll not want to venture far. Nestled in the the redwoods, next to the creek that is deep enough to cool you down in the warmer summer months, outdoor shower and hot tub- perfect to relax and stargaze. Cute general store close by with anything you might need plus they make great sandwiches. Alas, Raymond's Bakery is only open Friday nights from 5-9. However, you can catch them at the Farmers Market on Thursdays in Guerneville. So much to explore nearby but you just never want to leave this little slice of paradise.

This Zen House is an absolute gem! My family (2 girls ages 6 and 9) and husband and I spent an amazing 5 days at the Sequoia Beach Dreamery. The house was beautifully decorated, clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The kitchen was well equipped and the sleep number bed in the master bedroom was my daughter's favorite because it felt like she was "sleeping on a marshmallow." And best of all, it was so close to nature...nestled right amongst the towering redwoods, steps from a clear, clean and chill creek that got deep enough mid day for a nice swim, plenty of birds chirping. The kids were fascinated by the small fish darting around the creek side, many tadpoles and even a few crayfish to spot and observe. The hot tub and outdoor shower were a huge bonus and provided much needed relaxation after a day swimming in the creek and playing on the rock beach. I would highly recommend this place for any family looking to relax, unwind and connect with one another in the beauty of the outdoors. You won't be disappointed! We can't wait to go back.
