Description

Salmon House is nestled on a quiet lane in the residential neighborhood of Guernewood Park with redwood trees rivaling those at the local Armstrong Woods State Park. It’s centrally located - just a 10-minute walk to a popular public river beach, 5-minute drive to downtown Guerneville, 8 minutes to scenic Monte Rio, and 25 minutes to breathtaking views of the Sonoma coast at Jenner. Salmon House is full of family-friendly amenities! Enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch behind 200 ft tall redwood trees, use the BBQ to make lunch and feast under the patio table umbrella, spend the evening hours around the outdoor fire pit, and take a soak in the hot tub while enjoying the night sky and forest. The house has 2 kayaks and a wagon for guest use so if you want to paddle the river or have a picnic without having to get in the car you can.

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Salmon House is 6 people, not including kids under 3 years old. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times.

Parking: There is parking for a maximum of 3 vehicles. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Bed Sizes: First Bedroom: King bed; Second Bedroom: Queen bed; Living Room: Double/Full Sleeper Sofa.

Heat Source: The house has a gas wall heater on a thermostat and a woodstove set into the fireplace (no firewood or kindling provided).

Docks and beaches are seasonal only and available from mid-June to mid-September providing the summer dams are in. Canoes, kayaks, paddleboats and rowboats that are provided in some of our homes are also available from mid-June to mid-September only. The river is usually too swift for boating in the winter and many docks and beaches are under water until late spring.

Location: Salmon House is in a cozy residential neighborhood. It is a mix of permanent residents and vacation rentals, families, working folks, and visitors. To honor this balance, we ask guests to park in the driveway and along the front fence and respect the quiet hours in addition to general family-friendly, residential neighborhood expectations. Thank you for helping to continue the tradition of a mutually beneficial relationship between vacation rentals and local community!

Stairs: There are about a dozen stairs from the parking area to the front door and approximately 10 steps from the back deck to the hot tub in the yard. The outdoor dining and seating areas have gravel paths and steps. The living and sleeping areas are all on one level once you are inside the house.

Fencing: The property is fully fenced when the gate is closed.

Access to the Hot Tub: Is through a sliding door in the larger bedroom or from the front of the house and through a gate.

Common Amenities not included: This home does not have Air Conditioning, but there is a ceiling fan in each bedroom.

Proximity to wineries: There are tasting rooms in downtown Guerneville (1.2 mi) and oodles of tasting rooms at vineyards within 5 (Korbel) to 10 (wineries on Westside Road) miles.

Nearest River Beach: The neighborhood beach in Guernewood Park is a half mile walk from the house.

Nearest Ocean Beach: The coastal beaches near Jenner are approx. 12 miles away.

Salmon House was even better in real life than its lovely description. The home was beautiful and spacious and comfortable and clean. The owner writes that she has three children, so there were some toys there. This was an unexpected bonus as we were traveling with a five-year-old who loved the toys. We made a wonderful dinner in the well-appointed kitchen. Enjoyed the hot tub but it rained one evening so we were not able to use the gas fire pit. It looks like the stars would be lovely from this house. Walked up and down the road through the redwoods and discovered a new beach on the river we didn’t know about, thanks to her detailed activity descriptions. Highly recommended to everyone who wants to be in the Guerneville Russian River area. -via Airbnb

Absolutely loved our stay! The house was immaculate and perfect size for a small family. The location is perfect and loved that it felt like a home instead of standard rental that often lack character. They also had many condiments and cooking supplies. We plan to stay here again!

Very nice and comfortable stay at Salmon House. Cabin was close to everything in a quiet neighborhood. Modern kitchen, well stocked, fans in bedrooms, tv, washer dryer, hot tub and games available. Beds had foam mattress that took some getting use to. Multiple decks for lounging and BBQing but needed a quick sweep and furniture wiped down. Cable was basic and really missed access to sports programing and national news. Overall, would stay there again.-via Vrbo

Outstanding AirBNB! We’ve been visiting this area for couple years now, and this is by far the best AirBNB! Our dogs enjoyed the fully fenced yard and the hikes in the surrounding area! House is extremely clean and comfortable, its a nice reset/break from our busy life. Highly recommended! A+++-via Airbnb

Our family of two adults and two kids (8 & 6) really enjoyed Salmon House. Appreciated how spotless and clean it was. Comfortable beds and pull out sofa. The kids liked the kid games and books. Husband and son loved building the complicated Lego set (the car from fast and furious, lol!). We loved the spa, bbq and and fire pit. Nice big kitchen. Tvs in the living room and bedrooms was a nice touch. The photos are accurate. There were lots of lovely amenities such as soaps and a new kitchen sponge. The neighborhood was quiet and funky, we enjoyed talking walks. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great introduction to Guerneville!-via Airbnb

great walks with beautiful trees

We visited during a rainy March to watch college basketball and go for walks. The creek was dramatically high & the neighborhood provided great walks with beautiful trees & quirky cabins/houses. Living room accommodated 3 of us beautifully, TV was well-positioned & I could watch games from the kitchen. Bathroom is spacious. The house appears to be owned by someone who uses it & managed by local company. Space is thoughtfully equipped-- extra toiletries, first aid, emergency water, life jackets, extension cords, chargers, etc. The kitchen had all the basics (sugar, salt, flour, olive oil). The heater stopped working on day 2, but space heaters kept us fairly warm & management company was very responsive, checking it same day, offering additional heater, & sending HVAC by morning. We stayed 5 nights & the 1 thing I'd improve are the mattresses. After a few nights, we all agreed they needed to be upgraded to match quality of everything else. Honestly w/new mattress I'd visit 3x a year!-via Airbnb

Salmon House was a great place to stay! Situated on a quiet street, you can walk your dog for miles and enjoy the scenery and very friendly locals. It was clean and cozy, great fireplace and made good use out of the hot tub after an early evening bbq. Would definitely stay here again, Russian River Vacation Homes has the best cabins!

Salmon House was better than it looked in the pictures. It was very clean and cozy and came with all the amenities we needed for our stay. Excellent location hidden within the redwoods, close by to the river and to Armstrong redwoods park. House was kept very clean, delectable choices of convenience and useful décor, indoor and outdoor great for relaxing entertainment with family, instructions were easy and spot on. Nestled in a quiet forested subdivision, this place is the perfect getaway to rest and relax. Very well stocked and with thoughtful touches throughout we ended up spending most of our time here. Coffee on the upper deck in the soft robes, a dip in the hot tub, reading on the loungers, a glass of wine gazing at the large redwoods - what more do you need? My only regret was that we could not stay longer. Highly recommended!-via VRBO

This house has it all. The location is amazing. It’s located in the middle of a red wood forest, walking distance from my favorite Russian River beach. I really loved how clean and well equipped this place is for cooking. The hot tub is a huge plus, a perfect place to unwind before bed with a glass of wine.

Salmon house is a warm and welcoming oasis - it’s a great place to escape from noisy city life. The redwoods are calm and healing, the hot tub is refreshing and private, and the beds are comfortable! It’s a short walk to a nearby river beach, and a short bike ride into town. Highly recommend!
